It all started in 1989 when Moises Hernandez Sr learned this ancient trade by working with a local Stone masonry contractor in Santa Barbara, CA.  Working on various projects throughout Santa Barbara & Montecito for 25 years & regarded by many local contractors, stone masons and architects as one of the most skilled stone masons in the history of Santa Barbara. In 2007 his son Moises Hernandez jr. started working with his father part time on his side jobs and going to Santa Barbara City College at the same time. After a couple years in college and many years learning the trade, Moises jr decided to get his contractor's license and founded MGH Stone Masonry. While his father worked & supervised at different jobsites, his son learned the trade. In addition to taking care of administrative pieces. Items like project management, meetings, estimating, accounting, planning, designing and marketing to expand the company. Together as a team they have combined their knowledge, experience, skill and the entrepreneurship to have been in the construction business as a company for over 12 years, providing the highest quality of craftsmanship. MGH Stone Masonry has completed numerous projects, ranging from small repair projects to large scale projects working with the best local contractors, architects and homeowners. Their most notable work is in the heart of Santa Barbara which is the Moxi children's Museum of exploration + Innovation where they wrapped the front tower wall with 

Santa Barbara sandstone. MGH stands for Moy Gael Hernandez which is the name for Moises Hernandez jr ' son. Hopefully he will continue the legacy and tradition of this beautiful old-world Trade.
